A policy is a set of access permissions that are applied to a file while protecting it. There are two types of protection policies in Seclore Rights Management: Predefined and Custom policies. Independent permissions (not part of a policy) can also be assigned to a protected file.
Policies that Security Administrators create for users are known as predefined policies. Only users who are explicitly mapped to it will be able to use it to protect documents.
You can modify and manage all predefined policies created by all Security Administrators in your OU. The owner of a predefined policy is listed as the OU itself:
Policies that end users create for their own use are called custom policies. A custom policy cannot be mapped to a user or group. It can be used and modified only by its owner. Security Administrators of the policy owner are able to view the policy but not modify it.
